Our morning Mass on Saturday 26 April will be at 8.15 am to allow everyone to watch the funeral of Pope Francis from home

Our Masses this end will remain the same, however the 11am will be in honour of Pope Francis.
On Sunday at Sacred Heart Brooke Street, Chorley, PR6 ONG, there will be a Divine Mercy service at 3pm with the Chaplet of Divine Mercy for the late Pope Francis. This will be followed by confessions and rosary. Mass will be at 3.35pm for the intention of Pope Francis` soul.
A requiem Mass for His Holiness will take place on Friday 25 April at 9.30am.
Their Friday Mass (25 April) at 12.10pm will be celebrated for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis. This weekend, Archbishop Malcolm will also be present for jubilee celebrations, as previously planned. The Holy Father will be remembered in all of the Masses.
Throughout the Easter Octave, all of the Masses will be dedicated to praying for the repose of the soul of Pope Francis.

There is also a book of condolences. This will remain open until Monday evening once the Cathedral closes. Mass on Saturday will be going ahead as scheduled.

It is with deep sadness that we have received the news of the death of Pope Francis. There is a poignant beauty in the fact that his passing occurred on the Monday of the Octave of Easter—a time when we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the hope it offers for the resurrection of all believers. It is also moving that he was able to offer a brief Easter blessing to the city of Rome and to the world on Easter Sunday, just before his death. Pope Francis has been an inspiration to all Christians, to people of other faiths, and to those of no faith. He will be especially remembered for his call for a more mission-focused Church, his unwavering concern for the poor and marginalised, and his passionate advocacy for the care of our common home—the environment. We have heard with great sorrow of the death of our Holy Father, Pope Francis. He died having celebrated the Paschal Mysteries and blessed the Easter crowds, in the season of the Resurrection. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.
We will be celebrating a Requiem Mass for the repose of his soul on the 25th April at 7pm here at St. Augustine. Daventry. Meanwhile, let us pray for the cardinals as they gather to elect a successor to the See of Peter.
